    Hi creativenorthmedia,

Currently, when duplicating a lesson, materials are not duplicated because we believe they are not needed. The duplication function is designed to help managers save time by cloning the structure of a course, but they will still need to edit each item, such as the title and content, so materials are not necessary.

    Thanks.

    Hi @thimpress

    Thank you for your response.

Can I ask, where did you get that belief from? Perhaps I’ve got this wrong but I can’t imagine how that would be a reasonable belief.

What I’m hearing is that the duplication function is entirely redundant. From where I’m standing there is absolutely no purpose in a duplication function, without it actually duplicating everything. If I have to go through and edit each individual module after duplicating it, then I might as well just start from scratch.

As a software design principle, functions should do what they say on the can. This isn’t a complex function, or a deviation from normal usability that a user should expect from a program or system. The concept of duplication is at the very basic level of usability, like editing, or copy-pasting.
