Hello Support Team

I wanted to express my appreciation for GenerateBlocks and GeneratePress they are fantastic!

I’m in the process of developing a new software tool listing site, and I’m using the new dynamic data feature to include dynamic links to other websites.

I have a few specific requirements for these links:
1. Open links in a new tab.
2. Add a ‘nofollow’ attribute.
3. Customize the link label (I prefer not to display the full URL, but just a simple name like ‘Visit’).
I’d like to incorporate all these features into a button, but I can’t seem to find the option to set link attributes. Is there a way to do this that I’m missing, or is it not possible.

I have GP Premium and the GB free version, and I’m still quite new to coding.

Hi there,

We can use a filter. For reference, can you share a link to a page where you have a link you wish to be altered? Can you point us to the specific link as well?

For 1 and 2, you can give the Headline Block a class of cu-add-nofollow-newtab, then add a snippet like this:

add_filter( 'render_block', function( $block_content, $block ) {
    if ( !is_admin() && ! empty( $block['attrs']['className'] ) && strpos( $block['attrs']['className'], 'cu-add-nofollow-newtab' ) !== false ) {
		$myreplace = '<a';
		$myinsert = '<a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" ';
        $block_content = str_replace( $myreplace, $myinsert , $block_content );
    }

    return $block_content;
}, 10, 2 );
```
For 3, which label are you referring to in the links you shared?

Did you set a Dynamic source for that? Don’t set a dynamic content source. Just set the dynamic link source, and type the content manually.

Hi there,
1. A GB Button.
2. Type the button text into the label.
3. Activate the Dynamic Data and just set the Link Source.

Please read the #3 point from David’s last reply, it says:
1. activate the dynamic data.
2. just set the link source.
In your video, you’ve set the content source instead of the link source.

Hey Ying,

Thank you for the correction; it’s working now, and I can name the button link.

I have a few more questions: How can I make the button (link) ‘nofollow’ and set it to open in a new tab
