Dynamic lists from custom fields?

I am in the process of building a resort review site and each review will have a list of available facilities. Each resort will have different facilities and the number of each will vary. Just to complicate things each facility will have a little icon i.e. Train station will have a Train, Airport will have an aeroplane.
I cannot seem to get my head around the best way to do this, I’m thinking custom fields but don’t have a lot of experience with them.
Has anybody already done this or prepared to give advice as to the best way to achieve it?
