Dynamic permissions not working

I’m designing a frontend form as part of the page inside of an Anywhere Elementor-template and I want to show the modal button only to the author of the post (it’s a custom post type).
Problem is, that in the Permissions-menu, I can’t choose the option “post author” under dynamic permissions. The field is empty by default and I can’t click on the dropdown option “post author”, although it’s there.
I already tried using the form in a regular post, but I have the same issue there.
