Hello robinmactaggart,
Whenever we update the theme the widgets moves to inactive widget section. You can find that under Apperance -> Widgets -> Inactive widgets. For better understanding please refer the screenshot-

I hope the above was helpful.
Kind regards,

Thanks Manoj, I’ve checked and the sidebar menus are still sitting in the active widgets area. I just can’t work out why they are not visible on the pages since I updated the Minamaze theme.
Thanks for the suggestion
Rob
I’m having the same issues. All my sidebars have disappeared since updating. i thought maybe it was a child theme issue, so i used the updated minimaze. still nothing…. when i try to set the ‘sidebar location’ in the widgets area, it only has footer. i dont get the option to even set a side bar. and right sidebars have been setup via customization… none of the sidbars are need are listed under inactive widgets.
1 step forward 5 steps back… *sigh*
Hi Cariko, Sorry you are having the same issues. I’m still looking into this and will let you know if I can find a solution. There must be a way to fix this.

so i gave up. i got them working for one site. i have no idea how.
i ended up replacing the contents of the minamaze theme folder with an older version 1.4.2 and my sidebars are all back. the 1.4.4 release must not be stable or it has a serious bug.

actually, i think the issue may lie in the styles/style-responsize.css.
i decided to be lazy and replace my 1.4.2 version with my 1.4.4 version and my sidebar disappeared. recopied the old version back over top and it appeared again. i’m going to do some digging and find out exactly what part of the responsive css it doesn’t like…
Thanks Cariko, it’s good to know how you tackled it. I’ve tried to contact the theme builder to let them know about this issue but they don’t want to respond unless you have subscribed to the pro version in order to give you support access.
I’m reluctant to go back to a previous version of the theme so will keep trying to activate the sidebars in the latest build. I’ll have a look at the style-responsive.css
Hi Robin,
Upon adding a custom menu widget to the sidebar, the menu seems to be displaying fine (see: http://prntscr.com/gcgnm6). Please provide a link to your site and some screenshots of your backend showing how you have set the widgets in the sidebar which are not appearing on the frontend.
Thanks!
