I am asking if there is an easy guide to setting up users.

I would like to give users the following access only.

To create product, upload an image and publish.

I wish to create a website that offers multiple products from one website, not multiple products from multiple vendor sites.

Maybe Dokan is the wrong solution.

  • Hello @vinnie1719,

Based on your description, it seems you would like to allow users to create and publish products, upload images, and manage their own listings—without needing the full vendor functionality that Dokan offers.

Dokan is primarily designed for multi-vendor marketplaces, where each vendor manages their own store and product listings independently. However, if your goal is to have users contribute products to a single store (rather than managing multiple vendors), Dokan may not be the most suitable solution for your needs. This is because the core functionality of Dokan is built around multiple vendors.

To implement the specific functionality you’re looking for with Dokan, you would need some customization to limit the vendor capabilities while allowing users to create, upload, and publish products as you desire. You would likely need a developer to modify the plugin’s behavior to ensure users can perform these actions without accessing the full vendor interface.

Alternatively, if a single vendor setup is all you need, you might want to consider using WooCommerce by itself, as it is built to manage a single store with product listings and doesn’t require the multi-vendor setup that Dokan provides. This could simplify your process if you’re not planning to offer a multi-vendor marketplace.

    Thanks!
