EDD Plug-in updates question

Hi guys,
I am using this version of EDD:
https://github.com/easydigitaldownloads/Easy-Digital-Downloads/archive/2.5.10-beta.zip
This is a “beta version”.
Should I be updating the EDD plug-in on my site to the latest release that the WordPress admin area is recommending, if I am using this “beta version”?
It was recommended to me to use the “beta version” by Pippa as I had an issue with site security that this version resolved.
