Your question is not entirely clear to me. I think what you may be trying to do is this:
- You have a widget with a list of posts in there (for example in your sidebar or your footer).
- And now you want to style the titles of those posts in your widgets
If that’s correct, you can style them with CSS.
Depending on your theme, there’s a place for additional CSS that you can add through the theme customizer. You can write a piece of CSS in there to adjust the size of your post titles in your widgets.

Thank you for your help. Yes that’s what I was asking. Ok, I thought there might be a way without needing to know css. In any case I’ve decided not to proceed with the page/widget I was creating at this time so it’s no longer a question for me.
