Edit the SMTP
-
Is it possible to edit the smtp settings so that I’m sending from my own domain rather than my hosting provider’s? All the email bounces and I know they are all legitimate email addresses. Any ideas about what’s going wrong?

You can install an SMTP plugin. Most will override the sender address so that it is correct.
But it would be helpful to see one of these bounce messages to counsel you correctly.
This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.
A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:[email protected]
Domain giordanolaw.com has exceeded the max defers and failures per hour (6/5 (10%)) allowed. Message discarded.—— This is a copy of the message, including all the headers. ——

@donnaennispa, this is not a technical issue. The error is :
Domain giordanolaw.com has exceeded the max defers and failures per hour (6/5 (10%)) allowed. Message discarded.
Obviously this is related to a mailing list because Subscribe 2 is mailing list software. Your email service (prioritywebs.com) is telling you you’re allowed to have a certain number of failures per hour, either 5 failures or 10%.
You had 6 failures, which is why the email to Thomas.Kinnett refused to go through.
The fix here is to cull undeliverable email addresses from your mailing list. The number of failed deliveries directly affects your domain’s “reputation” with your email service, and how likely they are to think you are a spammer instead of a legitimate business. Here are tips from Yahoo on doing just that.
Hope that helps.
Weird since all of the emails I have on this list are people I do business with on a regular basis. Thanks for the information.
Check your Sent mail box for messages you don’t recognize. Is it possible you have rogue software sending mail that you are unaware of? ie. a virus or malware?
