There are a number of ways to customize the sitemap so it depends on what error occurs and how you want to solve it.
To remove a URL entirely, please follow these steps: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-do-i-noindex-urls/
If the URL should be indexable, please provide more information about the error, the URL that appears in the sitemap and what URL you want to show in the sitemap.
Many thanks for your reply
The error shows as:-
This is not a valid URL. Please correct it and resubmit.
Line: 124
Line: 128
However when I look at the particular sitemap, it has nothing like that number of lines, 20 or so at most
I have made some basic adjustments to the site itself and that may take care of things
Hi,
If the issue still happens let us know. Note, that you may need to clear all your caches. We would also recommend deleting your sitemap in Google Search Console (doing so will not hurt the SEO of your site) and then re-adding it. This guide explains more: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/submit-sitemap-search-engines/#google
The errors may drop off
