Editing default markup?

    Schema App creates by default 90% good markup on posts. However, there are a couple of fields that need adjusting. For instance, every “description” field is pulling in my share plugin info – “click to share this post…”. I would like to be able to just simply pull up that particular field and write my own description. However, when I hit “update” on the Schema app plugin, it starts from scratch and I lose all of the default schema the app automatically generates. Is there something I’m missing or a way to do this?     Can you tell me which social share plugin you’re using? The issue is the social plugin is inserting the “click to share this post” content into the core wordpress wp_trim_excerpt() function. So it would be best if the issue was resolved by that plugin author.

    The update schema app link currently does start from scratch. We will release an update soon that will improve this and include the default markup IF you select an Article data type in the Schema App Editor.

    Hi bcm924,

    Today’s v1.1.2 release addresses this, we now have capability to extend the existing markup within the Schema App Editor.

    About the schema description, I did some research and it appears ShareThis plugin adds “click to share this post” to the wordpress function the_excerpt(), which we also use to get the description.

    Here are two support forum posts from the developer, which mentioned two years ago ‘removing this from the snippets is sent to engineering’ & ‘on their roadmap’:
