    Hi Otter team –

Love the plugin, but have hit a frustrating bug.

    Situation

    • We recently tried to make a small edit to our homepage. (It’s been a few months since our last edit.)
    • The prior version included Otter block custom CSS to dynamically size and position headers.
    • Upon starting the edit, the custom CSS disappeared.
    • When publishing, it was gone.
    • We attempted to re-add the custom CSS. It had the intended affect on the preview, but when we published it, it again disappeared.
    • We weren’t able to roll-back to a prior revision (within the page editor) because each time the custom CSS would disappear from the rolled-back draft.
    • We eventually had to restore the whole site with a backup just to get back to where we had been before the edit.

Example where CSS is stripped out

    • I have created a cloned copy of the homepage with no additional edits and published it here so that you can see the difference with the CSS. (Ignore the difference with the menu bar. That’s a function of this page not actually being the homepage.)

How can we restore the Custom CSS functionality again?

    Thanks!

    Hi @etrdev,

    Thank you for reaching out.

Can you tell us what version your Otter plugin is running before you made the update?
I tried to test this in a fresh WordPress instance where I add CSS on the latest version then rolled back thrice, the code is still there.

Kindly provide us with a screencast of this issue so we can take a closer look.
Also please try rolling back while all other plugins are deactivated to isolate the issue.
Please do back up your site before making these changes.

Let us know how it goes.

    Hey @etrdev,

We figured out what was causing it. We will fix it in the coming release which will be out soon. For now, you can roll back to a previous version of Otter to fix this.

Or you can also just disable the CSS Module of Otter blocks from Settings > Otter, and install an older version of Blocks CSS (anything below 1.7): https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/blocks-css/

It’s basically the same feature just in a standalone plugin. And it will be fixed in the coming week.

Sorry for the issue and thanks for reporting it to us.

    Hi,

I have the same Custom CSS issue with version 1.7.3

Just wondering when fix will be released

    Thanks

Eagerly awaiting the fix, as well.

In the meantime @steven85, you can roll this plugin back to 1.7.0 (and turn off auto-updates) and it should work again.

I had the same problen with ccs and had to rollback to 1.6.9
