Editor Controls disapear

I’m currently having issues with editing the slider because the edit-icon disapears randomly. Enabling/disabling Fullscreen-Mode and/or changing controls-position can get them back sometimes.
This does not happen on pages without gutenslider-blocks. And it happens with Chrome or Firefox on macOS with different themes. Can anyone confirm this behaviour?
The blockeditor-divs .block-editor-block-toolbar__slot just become empty where controls should be. This happens in my local development-environment as well als a live-site.

@ma_wordpressorg sorry to hear, you are having issues. Which Gutenslider and WordPress versions are you using?

When you deselect the Gutenslider block and were in edit mode before (the mode that lets you edit your slides), the block switches back to preview mode. Deselection automatically takes place, when you click outside any block in the editor (like in any block).

To reselect the block you can always use the “outline” menu item from the top toolbar that shows all blocks you have on your page/post.

Wodpress is current Version 5.6.1
Gutenslider Version is 4.5.0

I will now check, if it is some plugin-issue of some sort. Selecting slides via “outline” is not working. The controls stay empty.

I deactivated all other plugins and the problem remained.
I then switched the theme to twentytwenty and the problem went away. So it might be also a theme related issue.
The theme I was using is called seedlet (from Automattic) – So far I can only randomly reproduce it.
It only happens in Fullscreen-Mode.
So here’s how I almost every time can reproduce this:
Have the editor-settings like this: Floating-Toolbar, Spotlight off, Fullscreen off. Select a block in editor – now change to fullscreen-mode and select Gutenslider-block. Interface-Controls(Pencil for Gutenblock) are gone. Selecting other blocks to see their controls gone too.
Getting them back I have two choices: Go back to normal-screen-mode or turn on top-toolbar on and off.

Thanks for reporting though. We will release a big feature and function update and hope it will fix many issues, as well as yours.

I also have this issue of once it goes into preview mode it will not let me edit any of the text blocks I’ve added. Tried some of the tips mentioned above but no luck in getting editing capabilities back. When I select the paragraph block within the slider frame using the outline mode it does not provide any edit options in the area or on the ‘block sidebar’. When I try to click on the text it just brings me to the main gutenslider block options.

Any ETA on when a fix for this issue may be released? Like the plugin but not being able to edit after it goes into preview mode is not something I’ll be able to keep using.
