It may be possible that the plugin is causing a lag with the WP editor – the problem goes away when I switch AIOSEO off.

There was a similar issue in the past where the editor would slow down due to the plugin pulling too much text into the meta description.

The issue we experienced in the past was that the code which determines the preview snippet in our metabox throttled because it was filtering stuff out of the entire post content to figure out what the meta description would end up looking like.

We fixed this at the time by shortening the post content to 2.000 characters before running these filters. There’s definitely still room for improvement and we’ll likely tackle this again in the near future.

Do you notice any slowdowns when the post content gets longer?

    Hi, thanks for the reply.

Today I noticed no issues when working on the same post (+2000 words) with AIOSEO activated – so it might not be the plugin after all.

I’m glad to hear you’re no longer experiencing any issues. Feel free to give us a heads up if you were to experience any slowdowns again!
