When adding captions (manual entry) to slides, it keeps adding a Div around the content. It’s throwing off my code, I don’t need the extra divs in there, especially when it’s inside a blockquote tag. Isn’t there some way to bring back the Classic editor? I have Disable Gutenberg installed, it’s not working in here. I also tried Classic Editor plugin, but still, Metaslider is ignoring the settings to disable Gutenberg, so there’s a strange and annoying Tinymce showing. It’s missing the old Blockquote button, and showing a “Div” dropdown, and the Blockquote option is buried under “Blocks” – ???

We never ever use blocks, so there must be some way to disable this strange menu or use a completely different Classic editor in here? Nothing about it shows in the settings

Hi @malawimama. Thanks for using MetaSlider.

Can you share a screenshot of what you’re seeing, please? We don’t use Gutenberg inside the MetaSlider screens, so a screenshot will help us understand your issue.

Thanks for using MetaSlider. We’ve not seen a reply to this discussion in 2 weeks so are closing it for now. Please post if you have more questions.

sorry for taking so long to respond – attached are links to 3 images showing the normal ‘Classic’ wysiwyg buttons we have in the editor throughout the site & would like to see in the meta slider caption wysiwyg too.

another image showing captions when slides are 1st created – this “Div” field is automatically selected, which is adding a “Div” within the blockquote (and throwing off the design/layout)

finally, an image showing where the ‘blockquote’ button is located — deep within this submenu, instead of a normal quote button at the top.

this setup requires a client to drill down into the menu, de-select the ‘Div’ field and select the ‘blockquote’ field, it’s too confusing for clients to deal with. For now, I disabled the TinyMCE option in meta slider settings and just put <blockquote> around the text but I don’t want to teach clients html 😉

hopefully this is something I can fix on my end? maybe a function or something that will show the normal editor choices instead of these buried menus? thanks!

    Hi @malawimama,
    we appreciate your feedback!

We are using a newer TinyMCE version for MetaSlider captions, so the way it works is slightly different to the old TinyMCE from WordPress core. Buttons location for the settings is expected to be different for this same reason. Indeed the editor wrap the content with divs by default. Please note the Gutenberg settings doesn’t interfere with MetaSlider captions editor.

If having a div within a blockquote tag is causing problems, there should be a way to adjust CSS to avoid design problems. Please let me know how this looks in your end so I can suggest custom CSS.

    Regards
