Editor page going blank

    Hello!

    Since last night, on “Aspects” > “Editor” I’m trying to update the code on the header.php page. But every time I hit the Update file button, all the text/code I previously put suddenly disappears, leaving the text box completely blank.
    This is a huge problem because now the website is all ruined because the theme now thinks that the there is no header code.

    I have WP version 4.7.9 with the theme Spoon.
    Nothing changed since two days ago when everything worked fine.

    I’m trying to update WordPress to the latest version, but I have some trouble finding the FTP datas to do it, so since is pretty urgent I’m asking your help, to see if I can solve it somehow without updating WordPress.

    You have backups?
    You should not be editing the PHP files directly.
    You can reinstall the theme to get back to the original files. (through the admin panel: delete and then install, or use the plugin Easy Theme and Plugin Upgrades so you don’t have to delete first) or (use FTP or your host control panel File Manager to upload the one file you need)
