• I have created an editor-style.css file and I clicked on create CSS classes Menu in the advanced options area and saved. The rest of the settings are the default settings. I am using the classic editor in WordPress 5.6.2 I know the editor-style.css file is working because I can see the style applied to my link in the editor. However, the CSS classes are not loaded in the editor in place of the formats menu as it says will happen under advanced options. I want the person who is editing to be able to select the class from a menu and apply it to a link to create a button.

Looks like your ticket has been open with NO reply for a month. If Automattic is going to put these plug-ins out then they should support them — and make sure they work. Frankly, being able to apply classes from the editor should be a default function. If you could apply a class to a link we could avoid a bunch of unneeded plug-ins.

    Hi @judyvedder,

However, the CSS classes are not loaded in the editor in place of the formats menu

The CSS classes are imported into the “Formats” toolbar button (that opens a drop-down). They are not in the “Format” menu item. You’ll need to add the button to a toolbar. (I know, it’s confusing, will look into fixing this.)

If it still doesn’t work could you, if possible, switch to an older theme like Twenty Seventeen for a minute and see if it works properly?
