Elementor Archive Post not sortable

I have created an archive page with Elementor and Ele Custom Skin. But realized that there was no way to have the sort option as random. In searching the support the developer asked if it’s showing up in classic, and since the author of that topic never responded, he closed it, but I am here to say that it’s not in the classic tab.

Is there a way to insert a code in functions.php or somewhere to be able to accomplish this? This is the only page that I will have this random aspect.

Any help will be greatly appreciated! 🙂

For custom query in elementor you can check out this link:

Also there are filters out there that help you accomplish this.

@dudaster The problem with the link you suggested was that the Elementor archives template does not allow a place to add a Query ID. Otherwise, that would have been a sure solution. Thank you.

But, in my efforts to limit my reliant on plugins, I found a solution, that after implementing it, worked beautifully! @alvarolagarde you should try this in your website, if you feel comfortable dealing with the functions.php file.

You can do it by using posts with current query that behaves like archive posts widgets

OK, I learned something. I thought you had to used the archive post widget within an archive page.

I am glad you mentioned that because the linked I provided only worked while you were logged in. Weirdly when you log out, it stops randomizing.
