    Dear Elementor,

I’m currently running into an issue with the page builder.
The preview side of the page no longer loads.
I’ve tried picking this up with the wordpress support.
    They attempted the following:
    Disable plugins
    re-install elementor (several times)
    change the theme
    Check for caching plugin

I managed to find some errors by going into the “inspect thing” and looking at the ‘console’.
    It’s giving the following error’s:

Uncaught TypeError: jQuery is not a function
    at i.runReadyTrigger (frontend.min.js?ver=2.3.8:2)
    at editor.min.js?ver=2.3.8:2
    at underscore.min.js:5
editor.min.js?ver=2.3.8:2 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘holdReady’ of undefined
    at editor.min.js?ver=2.3.8:2
    at underscore.min.js:5
frontend.min.js?ver=2.3.8:2 Uncaught TypeError: jQuery is not a function
    at i.runReadyTrigger (frontend.min.js?ver=2.3.8:2)
    at editor.min.js?ver=2.3.8:2
    at underscore.min.js:5

I hope you’ll be able to make sense of this.

    Kind regards,

    Sander

  • Have you tried the solutions mentioned at https://docs.elementor.com/article/184-cant-edit-with-elementor

Look at tiger721.com/frozen It has a couple more things to look at beyond Cavaliers article. Memory seems to be so common for this problem.

    Apologies for the delay!

@cavalierlife yes, these options have been tried with no success I’m afraid.

@lestexas60 thankyou for the tip! I’ll have to give this a go. even tough I believe to have gotten closer to the source of the problem.
After having to rebuild the webpage about 5 more times, it appears to continue functioning UNTIL I add a contact form for MailChimp.
I’ve tried several ways to work around it, it seems a plugin will do the trick.

This is just a workaround though, I’m still unable to for example place a form with HTML. Elementor seems to have some sort of beef with MailChimp!
    Hope they work things out.

Adding a plugin and then having issues with the website seems to be a common issue. Since most of the plug ins work for other people I have always focused on the memory settings when this happens. Try setting up another site and only add the Mailchimp plugin and see if it works or not. If it does work, then there could be a memory issue or maybe a conflict with another plugin. If it doesn’t work, check out your themes compatibility with Mailchimp.

    @lestexas60
The plugin is the one thing that is allowing me to post a form on the website.
Any other method of posting the form breaks Elementor. (HTML/Widget)

“Try setting up another site and only add the MailChimp plugin and see if it works or not”

This is basically what I attempted. which lead me to the conclusion above.
I Followed the instructions provided by @cavalierlife, removing all plugins didn’t influence the functioning of the site.

Just reread the entire post. You aid this freezes up when you add the HTML form with MailChimp. Just curious if you have tried any of the other Form plugins that are free. Gravity, Ninja and a few others have free versions. Since you’re using this form I assume your Elementor is the Free version. That doesn’t have a Form option built in. What is your template?
