Elementor Plugin causes a critical error

    First, I wanted to edit a page I created with Elementor. That wasn’t possible because the sidebar never finished loading.
    Second, for whatever reason, when I wanted to visit the site (from within the admin page) a message came up “a critical error has occurred on this site”. So back to the dashboard, and I deactivated all plugins. Then the error message didn’t pop up anymore. Then I re-activated the plugins one by one, every time checking “visit site”. All was fine until I re-activated Elementor, the error message popped up again. This leads me to think that Elementor is the culprit.

    Does anyone have any ideas how to resolve this?
