Eliminating Redirect Chains

We use Redirection on a blog with over 20,000 current posts, and about 10,000 redirects of old URLs t that have been retired and redirected. This has happened over the course of about 15 years and we have many redirect chains as content has evolved.

What would be the best path to eliminate these redirect chains in Redirection? I know I can export and do an analysis of everything in a target field also listed as a source and then update as appropriate — but I was hoping I could do a bulk update in some manner.
