Elimination Image Captions

I have a blog up and running with 2 years of content in it.
Up until now we have been using a template that doesn’t work for us anymore.

The new one we’ve chosen though, doesn’t support image caption.

Is there a way to eliminate all the captions we have used over 2 years directly from the code, like disabling the feature?

I really do not want to have to go through each one of the images (more than 1000) and eliminating one by one the function.
