i have tried change the email to be used in alerts a dozen times in the settings and i keep getting alerts sent to the wrong email address still. not the new one. i saved the settings. cleard caches, even created a new email address jut for this. my old email adress is receiving thousands of alerts per day every time an ip adress is blocked. i even unchecked that setting in the alert to not receive it.. what s going on here this is ridiculous.

Hi @bb321, thanks for your message.

So long as the email address when you return to the settings page reflects the new one, Wordfence should be using it. When caching doesn’t seem to be the issue, I’ve seen either resetting your server altogether as a catch-all, or just a restart of postfix/sendmail (whichever your server uses) is likely to resolve the problem. In some cases, your host may need to assist with that.

If your site is connected to Wordfence Central, ensure you’ve changed the email address there too. Also make sure no SMTP/email WordPress plugins are defaulting to an email address set separately in their settings.

    Thanks,
    Peter.
