That’s not currently a supported configuration. However, you could approximate it by requiring email activation for the user role, but keeping that user role restricted. You could then go in as the admin and upgrade people who have completed email activation to a higher user role level.

Nah, it’s not what I want, I would need to edit 134 pages to disallow that user group.
To bad Ultimate Member does not have this option (even paid).

But it’s very expensive when you only need email verification (with admin verification).
Why can’t you guys just build this??? I’m sure a lot of people are willing to pay a bit for this extension.

Haven’t had any other requests for both email and admin approval yet so doesn’t appear to be much demand for such a configuration option.

I saw on your site also requests for this and the fact that there are other plugins (expensive) means that there is demand.
We’ve had other features which have been requested a lot more so our focus is on delivering those features at the moment. I will add this to our user suggestion board for future ideas though.
