• thank you for providing this plugin,
When a user creates an account, he doesn’t get this notification:
“Thank you for registering. Before you can login we need you to activate your account by clicking the activation link in the email we just sent you.” Instead he gets redirected to the same registration page.

Also, he doesn’t receive an email with a confirmation link. (I also checked the spam folder)

The default new user role is called “Member” and I also setup for this member, that he requires an email activation.

In the backend, I see the new user in the list for “Waiting e-mail confirmation”

Is there something I have missed in the settings ?
And I am using SMTP plugin also

  • I’m having a similar issue. I’m trying to send test registration emails to my Hotmail account, but it never shows up. Oddly though, I receive the emails when I register through my website email account.

    Hi @shhar1,

Does the email confirmation work when SMTP plugin is disabled? If so, there’s a compatibility issue between UM and your SMTP plugin.

@tcholewa – do you have SMTP plugin installed on your site?

    Regards,

I’m actually using Mailgun in conjunction with the Mailgun for WordPress plugin. It’s configured for SMTP.

I’m waiting 24-48 hours for my new subdomain to propagate on my domain. Fingers crossed, it should work.

Thanks for letting us know. We use SendGrid (free plan) on our site and it works great.

I just installed the plugin for SendGrid & Ultimate member. I’m still not able to achieve when new registrations occurs that an email is sent to that address to confirm before the account is created.

What happens currently is the account is created and an email is sent saying thanks for joining (Something like that).

When I installed SendGrid I put in my API key and below in the set-up form is a test section. I put in some test data and got the email so this works.

Is there something else I need to do? I’ve double checked UM/Emails >> Account Activation Email is turned on. I have not other SMTP plugins installed.

Question, how does this form creation handle uniqueness in terms of users? I’m assuming it’s the email address? Example how to handle all the Diaz Rodriguez in the world and the only thing separating them is their email address? If there is a conflict does the form complain address is already in use?

One last question how do I go about adding the Google recaptcha?
