    I got this email error on many (most? all?) outgoing messages from a forum post:

    Communication Error [334] – make sure the Envelope From email is the same account used to create the Client ID.

    Some people still received the email, but not everyone.

    There were several hundred, and without any way to sort the mail in the logs, I can’t figure out if those who received it did not trigger the error. I ran several test messages (to a smaller group) over the weekend, and did not have this problem. Those messages were delivered to the email inbox as expected.

    I also sent a test message immediately prior to the failed one (with emails logging, but not sending) and it was fine.

    The solution posted here is:

    This is almost always caused by being logged in to Google/Microsoft/Yahoo with a different user than the one Postman is configured to send mail with. Logout and try again with the correct user
    Login to Webmail and see if there is an “Unusual Activity” warning waiting for your attention

    I don’t understand this. Do you mean that I (personally) need to be actively logged into Gmail with the same account that is being used by WP/Postman to send mail from my WordPress site?

    These mails are going out from a forum….so this implies that I have to stay logged in to the same address that my WordPress site uses, at all times, to make sure that messages posted by anyone at any time actually get sent?

    I did check that Gmail account, and there is a warning that offers me the option to allow “less secure” content. Not sure if I should say yes.

    It looks like a limited number of messages were sent, and then this error started showing up in the log. The only “sent” messages I can see in our gmail account (for the forum post in question) are all to users with emails that begin with “a”. All the messages in the Postman log that have an error are email addresses that begin with “s” through “z”. The log is not large enough to track all the way back to the intersection of errors in Postman and sent mails in Gmail, but it appears that we only sent messages out to a limited number of addresses, and then nothing more. I am trying to find out if there is some gmail limitation we hit.

    Would you expect this error if that were the case? or do you think something else is going on?

    1. Paste the diagnostic test.

    2. Can you post the session transaction of one if the failed emails ? Hover the row of the failed email in the plugin email log

    Replace the first part of the emails not the domain.
