    Hello,

All my Wordfence advisory/alert emails arrive as raw HTML from one of my email addresses to another. This has been going on for months. Is there a way of fixing it?

    Thanks

Hi @paintandashes, thanks for your message.

This could occur because HTML emails that should be a content type of “text/html” are being sent from your server as “text/plain” instead. Wordfence uses default WordPress mail send functions, so there should be no difference between the intended content type of our alerts and any other emails you may be sending out from your site. However, if the email sender on your hosting plan or if you have a WordPress plugin for sending your email, is set to send all emails as text/plain this may be a configurable option that needs changing.

Alternatively, if you view the email you are receiving with full headers, and you see a line in the code similar to:

    Content-Type: text/html; charset=us-ascii

…then the problem may be at your email client rather than the content coming from your site. Let me know what you find and I’ll be glad to provide further assistance if required.

    Thanks,

    Peter.
