Email not working

    Hi

    I’m using a WP site hosted by Inmotion Hosting and with the Suffusion theme.

    The email part of your plug-in isn’t working. If I try to send a private message, or to resend a payment due message after an auction has closed, I get a popup message

    The page at <websitename> says ‘Sorry, no email could be sent’

    I’ll readily concede this may not be your plug-in’s problem, but I’ve no idea where to start troubleshooting or what to do. I do get email from the site advising of new user signups, and I think that’s pretty much the only email functionality currently enabled, and I’ve got a contact form widget on another subsite hosted there which works, so at least some email routines are working.

    Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Generally all hosting provide smtp functions. It seems SMTP for your hosting is not working. I do not think its a plugin problem. I would suggest you to contact your hosting for this and see if smtp works by default or not.

    Until now, I’ve never got any issues with me or any other user regarding this, hence I assume our hosting has smtp going pretty well.

    You can also try installing free plugin specific to this problem but I haven’t used one.

    Thanks for your answer.

    It seems to me that if I get emails telling me of new comments and of new user signups, doesn’t that mean that the smtp service is working?

    I’m pleased to ask the hosting company for assistance, but I don’t know what to say to them in terms of how your program makes smtp calls, etc. How do I test/debug this problem further?

    Would appreciate any further suggestions you might have.

    Did you fix the issue?
    The plugin uses same WP email functions which wordpress uses to send user passwords. Its strange to see why its not working.

    You can use this plugin – http://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/wp-smtp/
    This plugin allows you to enter gmail credentials & uses Google smtp to send emails. I’ve used it during localhost config.
