There is LMS addon-Email template manager that will help you to build your email messages. Now all the emails are sent no matter the Email template manager turned on or off. Fortunately, I want to announce that we are going to add extra functionality like allowing admin to control email messages. We hope in recent times, you will be able to disable your emails if they are initially built using this plugin.

If you are talking about emails that are not available in this addon (Email template manager), customization is required.
