My apologies for the delay in responding!

The best thing to do here is install a plugin like this:

https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/wp-mail-logging/

which will help you see what’s happening to your emails. Sensei itself doesn’t send email – it’s done via WordPress.

There’s a good article from the developer of the above plugin about how mail works in WordPress and things that can go wrong. Although this is about WooCommerce, the principles are the same for Sensei:
