• Hello there,

first thanks a lot for BackWPup!

I’m having trouble getting the email notification to work. Under Advanced Settings -> Protocols there is the option to add an email address to get notified about a backup job.

I have added an email address in the field. also added [email protected] in the sender field. I did not select the checkbox to only send when error occurs. I want an email each time a backup job has run.

But I never do receive an email!

What do i need to do to make this work?

    thanks
& keep up the good work you’re doing!

    Becki

    Hi Becki,

Thank you for your kind message!

Just to let you know, the issue with email log notifications not being sent is a known one in the recent versions. Our dev team is aware and already working on it. Hopefully it’ll be resolved in one of the upcoming updates.

Appreciate your patience and support in the meantime!

I ran across the same problem and just found out that notification emails are sent as long as you leave the sender field empty. BackWPup then uses wordpress@<your-domain> as sender account.

    Hope this helps

    @floriancss thanks for your recommendation.

I did a test and 1 site has an empty sender field.
the other site has a sender address e.g. [email protected]

both sites do send a notification email.
so it seems to work fine now.

there was also a note about a bugfix with notification emails in the changelog

anyway … great that this feature is working again 🙂

    Hi @becki,

Glad to hear the notification emails are now working fine for you, and thanks for confirming after your test. Yes, we recently included a fix for that in the latest update.

If your overall experience with BackWPup has been positive, it would mean a lot if you could take a moment to share a quick review here:

It helps us keep improving and also motivates the team.

    Best regards,
