Is there any way for users to get an email when they received a message?

Is there a place I need to turn that feature on? Or where can I find the settings for it?

    Thank you!

By default it is on. You can go to Front End PM Page (from where you send message), click “settings” and see there is an option “Email me when I get new messages?”

Thank you, I found it, its checked but I’m not getting any emails.

Ive checked my SMTP log and it shows no email being sent

    Which version you are using?
Which plugin you are using for your SMTP?
Can you deactivate all other plugins and change to one of default theme (eg. tweenty*) then try?

    Postman SMTP (https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/post-smtp/)

it works on a fresh install of wordpress, now i need to pinpoint what it is conflicting with

I’ve turned off all the plugins expect front end pm and on the Twenty Nineteen default theme, still doesn’t work.

In one post you said it works on a fresh install of wordpress, did it worked?
    Please follow https://www.shamimsplugins.com/docs/front-end-pm-pro/troubleshoot/email-notification-not-receiving/ (except no-5)

    Let me know.

it works with a fresh install yes, but with my current staging wordpress where i changed the theme and disabled all other plugins it does not.

I’ve followed all those instructions still not sending.

Is normal email sent from your website (eg. register, lost password email etc)?
Do you have any custom code for this plugin in your website?

    Thread Starter Ricky Poon

    (@poonasor)

normal emails get sent okay.. what do you mean custom code for this plugin?

    Plugin Author Shamim Hasan

    (@shamim51)

@dicki I am on the free version, I’m debating the same thing but I don’t want to buy the plugin and have it not work.

@shamim51 I’ll check my functions.php file – does this plugin use a certain jquery version?

It does not matter if you use FREE or PRO version. Email should receive in all versions.

Can you deactivate all other plugins and change to one of default theme (eg. tweenty*) then try? then activate one by one and let me know when this issue start.
