Email popup does nothing

When I click the email button it pops up a window but does nothing. I don’t have any mail client installed on my computer so I assume if I did this would then launch my email client. The problem is a lot of people now don’t use email clients. I was hoping that the email link would be a bit more advanced as its a paid for plugin, was sort of hoping to be given the ability to enter some email addresses and have the system send them. Is this a possibility in the future? If not the email button is sort of useless for me.
