email public vs. private

    HI,

    We are wondering about keeping the email private. Have you a way to make it so that someone would have to register to send an email inquiry? We are concerned about privacy.

    Currently, the public email is what appears when you are not logged in and want to respond to an ad. If we remove that, then there is no way for someone to know that they would have to register in order to inquire.

    In your theme functions.php add the code below

    
add_action( "init", "my_toggle_contact", 1000 );
function my_toggle_contact() {
    if( get_current_user_id() == 0 ) {
        remove_action('adverts_tpl_single_bottom', 'adverts_single_contact_information');
        remove_action('adverts_tpl_single_bottom', 'adext_contact_form');
    }
}

    then on details pages the contact information or form will be displayed to logged in users only.

    Thank you. Ideally we would like to leave it the way it is, have the option to have non-registered users reply to ads, but I was thinking that it would be nice if it were possible to give the option to advertisers who might not want to be contacted except by registered users. So not for everyone, but for those who wanted it as registered users only.

    This is possible but will require more advanced custom programming, beyond the free support offered here.
