• Hi –

New to Jetpack here. Sorry if this question has already been asked, but I cannot seem to find a resolution anywhere.

Scenario: A self-hosted instance of WordPress running on a large shared host… The host’s SMTP relay is spammed quite frequently, resulting in blacklisting of the sending IP, so messages relayed through the PHP “mail()” function are unreliable at times.

Question: Does Jetpack not use WordPress’ built in Mail function? There are several plugins that allow extending the built in WordPress Mail function, providing authenticated relay through a smart host.

According to this article (the last post on the page), Jetpack is using PHP mail directly. http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/jetpack-sharing-email-not-being-sent

Anyone run into this problem before? Suggestions or solutions?

    Thanks,
    Travis
