That should be your e-mail address. Apparently in some SMTP setups, username and send-from e-mail are different fields, so we’re going to be splitting that into username and send from e-mail address at some point.
Hey,
I’m having the same problem. I’ve tried every possible setting, and nothing seems to work. Right now my Email settings are:
Email Field Name: Email
“Send-From” Email Address: my own email.
SMTP Mail Server Address: smtp address of my hosting provider
My hosting proviver SMTP server does not require authentication, so I left SMTP Mail Password empty.
I don’t known if it’s a problem with my hosting, how can I be sure or test that? Any ideas?
Thanks.
I tried with this settings:
Email Field Name: my email
“Send-From” Email Address: my email
SMTP Mail Server Address: smtp address of my hosting provider
Password: empty (no authentication)
but still doesn’t work. And is not my smtp server, cause I tried sending with another script in php and it works with no problems.
Can you give an example of a configuration that works?
Hi Victor,
I’m not sure what the solution might be if there’s no password required. The source file might need to be changed to turn authentication off.
Mateus, the settings we tested with were:
“Send-From” Email Address: [email protected]
SMTP Mail Server Address: mail.etoilewebdesign.com
SMTP Mail Password: ThePassword
Hi Rustaurius,
I think that if there is no password, authentication should be turned off. Do you think that is possible? I would really appreciate if you could make this change?
Thanks for your time.
Hi Victor,
That sounds pretty reasonable. We’ll post an update shortly with that change.
