Email validation (issue with TLD)
-
I have noticed the way email validation works is far from perfect.
Some top level domain names are detected as invalid and the form suggests a different domain, which can be confusing for the website visitor. This has been reported before (ex: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/removing-email-suggestions/ ).
I have checked the settings under WP Forms > Settings > Validation and could not find anything relevant to this issue. I understand we can disable the validation, according to https://wpforms.com/developers/how-to-disable-the-email-suggestion-on-the-email-form-field/ – but I would like to keep it enabled because generally speaking, the validation is useful.
I would like to know if there’s someone we can contact (an email address or a form) in order to communicate about a specific domain and hopefully get it corrected in the next WPForms update.

Hey @nlogica – Thanks for contacting us!
Since you’re looking to suggest a feature in the email validation, you can use our Contact Form and we can share the feedback with the developers for future consideration.
Kindly,
I have the same problem and to say that we are requesting a new feature is a little off the mark. I’m based in South Africa and every time we type in a .co.za email address the form stops to ask if we mean .co.nz. This is very annoying and requires a second action from the user. This is a bug. Please can you rectify this? Surely it is a simple matter of adding the South African TLD to a list?
Please have a look at https://wpforms.com/developers/how-to-add-domains-to-the-email-suggestion-list/#add-top-domain
It contains the information you need.
@nlogica Awesome thank you. That works.
