Emailer is Broken

now that I have done the updates on the free version of email subscribers, it doesn’t work at all. I did a test broadcast and both emails have been stuck in a queue for half an hour (now an hour when posting this) and when I go to preview the emails on the reports section it says there is a fatal error. I am kind of panicking at this time because none of the regular post notifications have gone out since either. What is happening? This same series of issues has occurred on two different web sites. p.s the test email from the tools section did work on both sites
