Emailing posts

I configured the Options-Writing panel for posting entries by email. I have since decided that it’s not quite what I need and so I deactivated the information.

The problem I’m having is that I can’t delete the test posts I had sent to the blog via email. Every time I delete them they reappear. I imagine they’re stored in a file somewhere in the WordPress installation but I can’t find it. Help, please?
