It seems like the server might not be sending emails correctly.
To simplify things, I recommend keeping WP Mail SMTP active for testing purposes.
You don’t need to activate any services like Brevo—just enable the plugin and use the “Test Email” feature to check if emails are being sent.Additionally, it would be a good idea to contact your hosting provider and ask if your server is configured to send emails. Some hosts require a third-party SMTP service, while others do not. Confirming this with your host will give us more clarity.
As for DKIM, it’s an alphanumeric key added to your DNS as a security measure. It helps verify that an email was genuinely sent from your domain and not someone pretending to be you.

the host has confirmed that the server is configured to send mail. It was pointed out to me that that was likely as I get my copies of the mail.
I would be grateful for urgent help as I have set dates for the launch of this site

To investigate this further, please try the following steps:
– Disable the WP Mail SMTP plugin as we no longer need it.
– Keep the WP Mail Logging plugin active to track all email activity.
– Place a test order to trigger the checkout process and generate the corresponding emails.
– Share a screenshot of the email logs generated by the WP Mail Logging plugin.This will help me pinpoint where the issue might be occurring.

I have had Peter Livesley put in an order. I received a notification by email that the order had come in.

Peter applied for an account on the site and did not receive a notification in any form saying that he had applied for an account (no email and no notification on the website).

This sounds super frustrating, and I understand the urgency of getting this resolved!
Sometimes, WordPress’ default email function doesn’t always play well with certain server settings, and an SMTP plugin may be required. Since you’ve already tried with WP Mail SMTP, can you try an alternative provider and see if that resolves the issue?

If that makes no difference, please can you share the following:
- System Status Report: You can find this via WooCommerce → Status. Select
Get system reportand thenCopy for Support. - Fatal Error Log: Please share any fatal error logs (if any) found under WooCommerce → Status → Logs

I have discarded wp Mail smtp. However in the meantime I had asked the host (request is to third party who I don’t get to communicate with) for “what the smtp host is and for the smtp port. It was not forthcoming as I was told the site has its own PHP. In the copy of the note sent back from the third party there was a comment to my intermediary thanking for sorting “the 429 issue” – since that communication emails have started to arrive in the email box of my test customers. Does the ‘429 issue’ mean anything to you for it seems to have suddenly righted itself after weeks of frustration despite my not having changed anything at all!

429error usually means “Too Many Requests” and is tied to rate limits. It pops up when a server notices too many requests in a short time and might temporarily block or limit new ones. For emails, one cause of a429error is if the site sends out a lot of emails quickly, the server or email provider might slow them down or block some to prevent overload.It’s likely the third party adjusted the rate limits or set something up to avoid frequent
429errors, which might be why emails are now sending and being received. But if the issue comes back, you might want to try using an alternative SMTP provider that can handle high email volume to help avoid this kind of rate-limiting. MailPoet is one good option.Hope this helps!

If this is not picked up I will start another topic. Until now PHP has worked. However the website is sending email https://snipboard.io/gk4EX6.jpg but not only is the customer not getting notifications but I am not either.
I am reluctant to add another plug in (MailPoet was suggested) – is there anything else you can suggest to solve this issue?

It looks like the issue has come up again. Could you send an updated system status report so we can take a closer look? In the last report, I noticed that there was a high number of failed attempts in your Action Scheduler, and checking the current status will help us understand what’s going on now.
You can also check your scheduled actions by going to WooCommerce → Status → Scheduled Actions to see if there are any failed attempts related to the issue. Tasks like follow-up emails, subscription renewals, or order confirmations are managed by the Action Scheduler, so this view can give you more insight into what might be going wrong.
Also, I would suggest to reach out to your hosting provider once more. Since the issue has resurfaced, they might need to review and adjust the rate limits more permanently or investigate other potential causes on the server.

I contacted my host provider (my contact – and he then contacts the host) – my provider is convinced that I have woo settings wrong and I haven’t: I have checked. He then suggested I might have put in another plugin – and I haven’t. I did three test emails at his request and the problem still existed.
One thing that has changed is that I continued to get emails from paypal https://snipboard.io/LTNltV.jpg – these came two or three times a week recently. I ignored them as advised. Today the response to my buying postage was very different in format https://snipboard.io/2KAEaJ.jpg – the usual format I have had previously has been this https://snipboard.io/EQ7Gzh.jpg – would paypal have changed the situation?

Just to clarify, are your customers not receiving order confirmation emails at all when they place orders on your site? From the mail log screenshot you shared, it appears both admin and customers are supposed to receive emails since they’re marked as sent.
Does this happen for all orders or just specific ones? And have you had a chance to check if the emails landed in your customers Spam folder? Since the emails show as logged they could potentially be getting filtered there.kadence/woocommerce/emails/admin-new-order.phpAdditionally, when reviewing the SSR, I noticed that the default WooCommerce Admin New Order email template is being overridden by your Kadence theme.
To rule out any potential theme-related issues, have you had a chance to test this with the default Storefront theme and recheck the issue?

I am not sufficiently knowledgeable to apply a store front download – how does that affect my active business website? I would be very reluctant to apply it not knowing what to expect. is is separate from my current website?
If Kaydence is over riding – how can I change that?
I have asked customers if they have received emails, one has, one hasn’t (including spam) – in the 3 test orders I sent, the website always sends out the emails, I received the notification of the order but the ‘test’ email address did not get a notification.

Kadence WooCommerce Email Designer: by Kadence WP – 1.5.13You can use the free Health Check plugin which allows you to change the theme, and deactivate plugins, while still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site or making direct changes to your live site.
You can download the free Storefront theme here and then upload this to your site, but do not activate it. Next you can start troubleshooting with the Health Check plugin by enabling Storefront as the theme, and deactivating the Kadence WooCommerce Email Designer plugin, creating a test order and checking if the email is received. I’d suggest updating your WooCommerce Database to to ensure optimal performance. This can be done via WooCommerce → Status → Tools → Update database.
