• I’ve searched and read multiple posts about not being able to receive comment notification emails, and not being able to use plugins such as Ryan Duff’s Comment Form.

I’ve read the bug trackers and problems and solutions.

As far as I understand, everything that sends email in WP uses php’s mail() function.

My question is: what exactly needs to be edited in the php.ini file to allow mail() to work properly and allow WP to send emails?

I just switched hosts (to Rochen). My old host had no problems sending mail. Everything else transferred over without any problems. But none of the WP sites I moved over can send mail. At all.

This is not just limited to comment notification, but Ryan’s comment form, Admin emails, lost password emails, everything.

What I need to know is what needs to be edited in the php.ini file to make this work?

Right now, I have a post on my host’s forums about this, they tried something to fix it (although, I don’t know the details since they didn’t specify), but it didn’t work. If I can see how the php config file *should* look, I may be able to offer more insight to the host to get this resolved.

The server I’m on is relatively new, so I imagine as more people get placed on this server, they’ll run into the same problems.

Thanks for bearing with me through this post, all (I know this was kind of a long post). 🙂

Well, I don’t know what they did, but it’s fixed now.

I have the same problem as mentioned above.

In my settings i have “E-mail me whenever: Anyone posts a comment” on. But i never get a message in my mailbox. The strange thing is that, when i turn on “An administrator must approve the comment” i do get messages to approve in my mailbox.
When i use the registration option, accounts are made but users dont get a notification in their mailbox.

Can anyone help me with this problem?
