It seems all the websites where I use your plugins are no longer working – they all did before, perhaps sine the last plugin update. One site the server tech support said the password was wrong and he changed it (updated it) and emails could sent. Now with another site, same server different domain, I am having the same problem, so I went into cPanel and changed the password for the email address, and it still will not send emails. I get the following error (I changed the real domain to “mysite.com” for this post).

    Params:
    Mailer: smtp
    Constants: No
ErrorInfo: SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host. Failed to connect to serverSMTP server error: Failed to connect to server Additional SMTP info: php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo for mail.mysite.com failed: Name or service not known
    Host: mail.mysite.com
    Port: 465
    SMTPSecure: ssl
    SMTPAutoTLS: bool(true)
    SMTPAuth: bool(true)

    Hi @q120000,

Thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear about the challenge.

This error usually occurs when using the Other SMTP mailer. It indicates that your mail server is refusing the SMTP connection.

To fix this, you’ll need to contact your hosting provider with the error report. They should be able to advise on why the connection is being refused and hopefully resolve it.

Please let them know that you are trying to connect to their SMTP settings following the guide here:

    https://wpmailsmtp.com/docs/how-to-set-up-the-other-smtp-mailer-in-wp-mail-smtp/

I hope this helps. Thanks 🙂
