How can I get the PowerPress to integrate a player into my AMP Posts? I just realized that all my AMP posts lack the ability for playing my audio podcasts.

    Hello @wordpresschina,

It should be displaying the native HTML5 player. Can you send a link to the site in question so we can take a look? Thanks!

Hello, thanks for your quick response! I see the problem happening on 2 different AMP sites with PowerPress running. Is there a way I can send you the URLs outside of this forum? I would rather not make them public…

    Hello @wordpresschina,

We provide free support through public forms, the support we provide is then instnatly made public so the information may help others. We do offer paid support if you have information that needs to remain confidential then that may be the optimal approach. I can share a link to our consulting if you like.

Which AMP plugin are you using? We have only tested the official AMP plugin developed by Automattic. You can seen an example here: http://geeknewscentral.com/2017/06/08/gnc-1205-road-show/amp/ This is using our Blubrry Player.

    Thanks,
    Angelo

Thanks for the info Angelo. We’re using the default AMP from Automattic and the “AMP for WP – Accelerated Mobile Pages for WordPress” plugin for output.

    Hello @wordpresschina,

I don’t believe you can use both plugins at the same time, you will want to pick one or the other. As I read https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/accelerated-mobile-pages/, it is a stand alone AMP plugin. The other https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/amp/ (made by Automattic) is the one that we have tested and successfully got to work with the native HTML5 player without issues.

If you want to use the first one (accelerated-mobile-pages), keep in mind we have not tested with PowerPress. I have added it to the TODO list.

If you want to use the 2nd one (amp), it should work with PowerPress just fine without any additional changes.

Many thanks for your help @amandato!

The https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/accelerated-mobile-pages/ plugin requires Automattic’s AMP plugin https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/amp/

So they must both be activated. Here are the install details: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzRy6Q_VGGc

So there seems to be some reason why they are conflicting somehow. Maybe an easy fix?

Yes thanks for clearing this up.

amp (alone) = HTML5 audio player βœ“

    amp + accelerated-mobile-pages = No HTML5 audio player βœ—

We are using “amp” with PowerPress without issues. The “amp” plugin can be used without “accelerated-mobile-pages”.

accelerated-mobile-pages – we have not tested this at this point. We have added testing this plugin to our TODO list. As far as a conflict, will not know until we test.

Ok, no problem and no rush, and many thanks for your help~ You can also let me know if I can help test for you because I run 2 sites using this configuration.

The “amp + accelerated-mobile-pages” is a great plugin because it removes the need to do lots of coding on display of the pages. But the downside is that ease of use means some things can not be easily tweaked πŸ™ So in the meantime I am trying to figure out some conditionals to use in the Posts to use different players when using returning the */amp pages.

    Hey @wordpresschina,

Thank so much for using our plugin.

I have created a ticket about it here.

We will test it and make sure that it works fine with our plugin.

    Regards
    Marqas

    Hey @amandato,

Have you guys tested it? If yes, let us know if you find any conflicts with our plugin, we will make sure to remove those conflicts as soon as possible.

    Regards
    Marqas
