• Hi and thanks in advance for your help.

I use these widget areas: sidebar 1, sidebar2, and sidebar 1 bottom, and sidebar 2 bottom. But I don’t always put something into the “bottom”s.

In many cases, when I do not put a custom sidebar into the “bottom” locations, this error appears:

“Please select the posts you want to show through the widget settings”

I have created a “blank” widget, but it’s annoying to have to put it everywhere. Can’t I leave a widget area empty without generating this text?

Example: http://tangoforge.com/renaming-the-roles/ (see sidebar 2 bottom for fault).

    Thanks!
    Violetta

  • Hey there Violetta,

This should be related to your theme rather then the custom sidebars plugin. I’ve checked the theme that you’re using and you could maybe try removing the text with some jQuery.

Please create a child theme and copy footer.php there. Once you have that try replacing the code in your child theme footer.php with this one here http://pastebin.com/g4ut5ebB.

This should remove the text. Please let me know if this helps 🙂

    Cheers,
    Bojan
