Hi @danbis,
I just tried the plugin on a WordPress 5.7 installation and it works correctly.
Could you please flush your cache and try again? https://help.shortpixel.com/article/426-how-to-clear-wordpress-cache
If that doesn’t work, can you please deactivate all other plugins, except Enable Media Replace, and try again? If that works, then the problem comes from another plugin π
Let me know, please.
Best,

Hi Gerard,
No, I can’t flush the cash of “Enable Media Replace”. The plugin is not listed in “settings”.
I also deactivated all other plugins, returned to “media”, clicked on “edit” and there is still no replace option to be found.
PS: I also did not install any new plugins. WordPress updated and the replace option disappeared…

Hi @danbis,
Enable Media Replace doesn’t have any cache, so indeed, you cannot flush its cache :-). I meant to flush the cache of all the other components: plugins, hosting, browser… https://help.shortpixel.com/article/426-how-to-clear-wordpress-cache
Could you please try it?
If that doesn’t work,
- deactivate all plugins except EMR
- go to the Media Library
- change to List View
- hover over an image
- send me a screenshot of it. For example: https://i.imgur.com/Y7ELjFb.png
Thank you!

Hi Gerard,
I can’t clear the cache of plugins or pages. I also cannot find an option to switch to “list” view in the media.
Sorry, your screenshot is a dead link, but in my WordPress the media page looks like this (your plugin being activated):

Hi @danbis,
I see what you mean, thank you. I believe the problem here is that you are using WordPress.com and not the self-hosted version ww.wp.xz.cn. Here you have more information about that: https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/self-hosted-wordpress-org-vs-free-wordpress-com-infograph/
WordPress.com may not be compatible with all plugins, including ours, and you cannot control what, how or when the plugins are compatible with it, as it all depends on WordPress.com.
If you need further assistance with this, I recommend you to contact their support team.
Thank you!

Ah, I was suspecting that.
I was in touch with them and they asked to get in touch with you.
For me that is a serious game changer as it would mean that I had to update the link to my CV pretty much every week.
Thanks for your help!
