Enable Multiple Language-Specific Sitemaps

How Can I Enable Multiple Language-Specific Sitemaps in WordPress Using WPML and Yoast SEO?
I’m currently working on a WordPress website using WPML Multilingual CMS Version 4.5.5 and Yoast SEO Version 19.8. We have successfully enabled five different languages on my website. However, I’ve noticed that all the links for these languages are currently included in a single sitemap. To enhance my website’s SEO strategy further, I’d like to have separate sitemaps for each language version. These are the sitemaps I aim to create:
- https://dev.test.com/de/sitemap_index.xml
- https://dev.test.com/fr/sitemap_index.xml
- https://dev.test.com/ru/sitemap_index.xml
- https://dev.test.com/es/sitemap_index.xml
Single sitemap
I’ve attempted to enable and disable the WPML Multilingual CMS plugin and then enable Multiple sitemaps, but the default language sitemap continues to have multiple URLs.Default language sitemap
Could you please guide me on how to configure my website to enable these language-specific sitemaps effectively using WPML and Yoast SEO. I’m looking for step-by-step instructions or best practices to implement this optimization successfully.
