    Hello guys,

I’ve enabled the Multisite Network for creating subdomains. In that case, if I need to update the Theme, for example, it is updated by Superadmin, so in that case I would need to go to each of the sites (subdomains) that are enabled in this theme, in order to activate the maintenance plugin for you?

Can you do this one-time activation for all sites that are using the particular theme?

For example, if I have the sites:

    Mysite.com
    Sub1.mysite.com
    Sub2.mysite.com
    Sub3.mysite.com
    Sub4.mysite.com
    Sub5.mysite.com

And let’s say the 3 sites (mysite.com, sub2.mysite.com and sub3.mysite.com) all use the same theme. And I decide to update this theme for a new version. So, how would Superadmin activate the one-time maintenance plug-in for all three of you? That is, Superadmin chooses the sites that want to activate the plugin of yours, and does it in a single time, is it possible?

    I thank you.
    Rodrigo

    Hi,

This plugin is for maintenance mode when you are making updating to your site and it works on a per site basis. See this article on create a custom maintenance page when WordPress uses it built in Maintenance Mode for updating themes, plugins and it’s core files. https://www.seedprod.com/how-to-create-custom-maintenance-mode-page-wordpress/

Here’s the difference between the built in maintenance mode and what a plugin does: https://www.seedprod.com/wordpress-maintenance-mode/

    Hello,

I needed to know the following … when I need to update some theme, plugin, … will the maintenance page be activated for all my sites in the Multisite network?

In the case of the maintenance.php file, I believe that all the sites of a multisite network enter into a maintenance state, since the file goes to the root of the wp-content of the main domain. But is the plugin also like this, when activating the maintenance state, all the sites in my network are hidden?

    I thank you.

Like I said when theme and plugin files are update wordpress uses its’ built in maintenance mode, this usually only last for a few seconds and no one usually even sees it, yes it’s network wide. If you just need to make some content updates to a site use a plugin.
