Hello, in settings>payments>stripe>Enable Payment Request Buttons. (Apple Pay/Chrome Payment Request API)-I have checked the box to enable.

About a month ago, we were receiving orders (with this button), processed through Google Pay and Apple Pay, but at some point between now and then, customers are no longer able to pay using this button. Note: The button only appears if the customer has set up google pay or apple pay on their device / supported browser. Also, stripe checkout is working fine. Currently, when a customer clicks on the mentioned button, it takes them to a google pay (or apple pay) popup screen on their device where they see the order details, shipping addresses (which they can specify) and can select their payment method (e.g. a card on file with google pay). But, the “pay” button of this [google pay] popup order screen is grayed out, leading me to believe that there is an authentication issue on this particular transaction path. So, the button is working fine, but there is something wrong with how the transaction is sending data to either stripe or google/apple pay or perhaps both.

Note: stripe cart/checkout is working fine. Just having an issue with this button: Enable Payment Request Buttons. (Apple Pay/Chrome Payment Request API) – either authenticating or connecting to google / apple pay.

Hey there @bair004, can you please start by copy and pasting the system report for this site? You can find it under WP Admin > WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support.

Also share the URL to your site, so we can take a look. Thank you!

Hi, Thanks for the reply! I am communicating with Automatic in an open ticket. I will update everyone here after the results are in.

Update: I updated the Stripe API version (in stripe account dash) a few days ago and the following morning after the update, google pay worked for me… and we also got a google pay order that same day. Then it stopped working again when I checked later that night… still not working the following day. So I unchecked the Payment Request Button option in WP Stripe Plugin and now just sent over a staging site for woo staff to help troubleshoot. The support ticket process has worked pretty well. I was a bit surprised to see that the staff is quite helpful and responsive.

    Hi @bair004,

Hopefully, our staff was able to help you out with the Google Pay issue. If you still have trouble, let us know. You can always open up a ticket at WooCommerce.com if you have issues with Stripe.

I’m going to mark this topic as resolved since haven’t heard anything in a while. Let us know if we can help out.

    Best,
