enabling cache system of wordpress

    Hello all,
    How to enable the cache function for my wordpress ?
    i’ve added this line to my wp-config.php : define(‘WP_CACHE’, true);
    And have created the cache folder in my FTP with 777 CHMOD.
    My folder is empty. it seems to be disabled!
