Great plug-in. Thanks Rogier. It fixes my problem, but still, I’d like to know why WordPress has not fixed this problem.

When I have “Allow Comments” enabled for this (or any other page), WP inserts this non-secure link into the page: http://mulita.com/blog/wp-comments-post.php

And I’ve searched high and low to find where WP is getting the basis for this link to change it.

Can you give me a clue what file to edit?

    Thanks,
    George Jardine

    Hi George,

Are your site_url and home_url with https? WordPress usually takes the site_url to generate the URL’s

It’s just that one URL…. and I con’t find where it’s being generated from.

    Hi George,

strange, the site does seem to have the green lock and I’m not sure if this results in any other errors. I’ve done some Googling on ‘405 error on wp-comments-post’ and this might be caused by a security plugin/webserver configuration. To check this you can temporarily disable any security plugins the site uses to see if the error persists.

Thanks for looking into it, Mark. It was an error on my part, and is now fixed.

I thought when I started this process months ago, that I updated my WordPress Address and Site Address (Settings > General) to https… but it was not. I think what happened is that’s the FIRST thing I did, and it caused a bunch of broken links so I think I remember now, backing it out until I could clean up all the hard links.

Never went back and checked the most basic of all https settings…… my fault.

    George
